The bright stage lights and the energy of the crowd are an incredible combination to photograph. The challenge is capturing both in a single image without either being washed out by other factors or blended together into one blurry mess. The best way I've found so far is getting right up close to where most people can't reach - usually behind sound equipment, up in the rafters, or in the middle of the crowd, which means you'll need more than just your access pass, but the courage to get right down into the pit to find the magical moments. The "Party Portrait" is a fresh way to capture the atmosphere and feel of an event. After countless hours planning, it's time for you and your guests to finally enjoy themselves at this perfect occasion. There will be no more tired step-and-repeat shots...instead we'll focus on capturing all those details with their natural surroundings as the backdrop!
I love working together with other businesses to make great content. Creating social media and marketing assets often gets put on the back burner, especially for small business owners like you! Even big companies have trouble keeping up-to date in this day of age where we all need instant gratification from our favorite brands or products if they are going viral across platforms such as Facebook and Twitter . But incorporating a documentary style can help your audience feel more familiarized while engaging them at an even deeper level because their eyes get drawn into what's happening right then & there which creates empathy--a key ingredient towards customer loyalty. Photographers are responsible for capturing the most precious and important moments in history. Finding ways to convey energy of a political campaign, or passion found in protest calls for thoughtful ethical consideration. Click here to book me.
There are many different ways to approach Event Photography. Taking a fly-on-the-wall approach captures key moments, while making others feel like they were in the room. For your guests, this method keeps them engaged in the event, and brings them back in time when viewing the photos later. We'll work together to develop a shot list of key moments, important people, and requirements for any sponsor fulfillment or social content needs. Let's schedule a quick call to discuss your event, click here to get started.
No one knows what the future of Drag will be, but it's certain that there is no shortage in creativity or uniqueness.
A staple of the LGBTQIA+ community has always been both creative and original drag performers who are not afraid to take risks with their art form even if its just putting on make-up for fun at home. My approach to drag photography is similar to how I capture a band on stage: make the viewer want to be at the next show. Out of all the shoots I do, capturing live drag is my favorite work to produce.
It's not about orchestrating some over the top image with smoke grenades that ruin your rented tux or expensive gown. It isn't trespassing in a wheat field at sunset with your kids... its capturing the way you steal a glance at your partner, a subtle touch of the hand, the quirky reality of the life you've built together. This level of authenticity results in images that truly capture what our hearts can't always put into words. Click here to book me.
When you're looking for something more than just another mirror selfie, a home session is a great place to start... especially if the idea of a photo studio triggers bad memories of JC Penny photo studio sessions as a kid. (My studio is way more fun than that though) During a home session, we'll move around your space, and walk through some of your regular routines. Making breakfast, watering the plants, reading a book, laundry... these quiet moments at home may seem monotonous, but can produce the most authentic images of you. Click here to get started.
